WILLS - TRUSTS: I’ve been widowed…and it was excruciatingly painful. Would’ve I wanted to deal with inheritance and tax issues at the time? NO WAY! Would’ve I been able to? Probably. Would’ve I been able to address the issues properly? Not sure….and this is one time when you really need to be sure. Probably would’ve retained someone else.
End of life decisions, i.e., how much of your assets do you want to spend for artificial life support system (T. Schiavo case in Florida), although you have almost no chance of recovering? Do you want all your money spent on hospitals or do you want most of it left for your survivors?
I have practiced as a Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning Attorney in San Jose for over 35 year.
BUSINESS LAW: Hands on experience at small and large companies, from startup stage to productization. If you go to any courthouse you will see lot of people that are enemies, or at least not friends any more. What happened? Poor contracts, greed, dishonesty, thievery, misunderstanding, unreasonable expectations, sloppiness, unexpected events? I sometimes use the sequence of 5P’s to make my point here….Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance!
BANKRUPTCY: Direct experience at small companies that had gone bankrupt and representation of corporate and individual clients before bankruptcy courts. What went wrong? How to properly reduce or eliminate your debts! How to properly restructure your financial affairs! What you need to do under the new bankruptcy laws!
